Stavanger and Preikestolen weekend trip

Purpose: hike to Preikestolen – Pulpit Rock, take a walk in Stavanger and see Sverd i Fjell – Swords in Rock.

Where: south-west Norway, Stavanger, Tau, Preikestolen, Lysefjord.

When: end of September 2017.

From-to: flying from Gdańsk Airport, Poland and arriving to Sola Airport near Stavanger. Bus to Stavanger Fiskepiren harbor and a ferry from Stavanger to Tau. Then a bus from Tau harbor straight to Preikestolen hiking trail start.

A weekend trip (2 days) by plane to Norway, Stavanger. Main purpose was to visit Pulit Rock. There was constantly some rain (not much) but rain is pretty usual in Norway. However the second day was sunny. The hike to Pulpit Rock was not recommended that day because of that rain and some wind supposedly strong at the top. There was a sign with this information at the beginning of the trail. We went up. Trail was not difficult, only the rocks were a bit slippery because of the rain. Pretty views on the top at Lysefjord. At the time there were very few people on the top of Pulpit Rock. On sunny days it is not possible to spend time in there without crowds.

Stavanger is full of street art. Architecture is very consistent, the same style of houses siding panels and colors everywhere, mostly white.

A strange hut on the way, very small, a bit minimalist and modern style. Closed.
